The Grand Lobby is now open at 221 Broadway in Amityville, inside the historic lobby of the long-shuttered Amityville Theatre. Owners Erin and Alex Gonzalez — who already run Park Avenue Grill just across the street — brought in Executive Chef Roberto Leon to helm an internationally inspired menu featuring dishes spanning Mediterranean, Asian, and classic comfort food traditions. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday for dinner, with Friday–Sunday lunch service as well.
The Grand Lobby sits at 221 Broadway in Amityville — specifically inside what was once the ornate lobby of the Amityville Theatre. The space still carries the bones of the original theater: high ceilings, architectural detailing, and the kind of presence you notice the moment you walk through the door.
Owners Erin and Alex Gonzalez had already proven themselves with Park Avenue Grill, their first restaurant just across the street on Broadway. Three months in, they're describing the response as "a whirlwind of success."
Executive Chef Roberto Leon brings more than 20 years of culinary experience to the kitchen. His menu draws from the Mediterranean, Asia, and classic American traditions using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. One standout: a tomahawk pork chop served with tri-colored potatoes, vegetables, and garlic aioli.
The space leans into its history rather than hiding it. The original theater lobby architecture gives the dining room a dramatic quality that most new restaurants spend years trying to manufacture. The Gonzalezes have positioned it as a destination for both dinner service and private events.
