Spring farmers market season is back on Long Island, with Nassau and Suffolk markets reopening from late April through mid-May. Here's your county-by-county rundown — where to go, what's in season, and what to know before you show up.

Long Island farmers markets are coming back for spring 2026, with most Nassau and Suffolk locations reopening between late April and mid-May. From ramps and asparagus in Garden City to early greens at the Riverhead market, here's where to go, when to show up, and what you'll find at the best outdoor markets across the Island this season.
There's a specific kind of energy at a farmers market in late April that doesn't exist anywhere else — bundled-up vendors, that first real warmth in the air, and a folding table stacked with spring garlic and ramps that taste like the season finally showed up.
April and early May are ramp season. Wild ramps have a short window and show up at select vendors across Nassau and Suffolk. Alongside ramps, expect asparagus, early spring greens, radishes, spring onions, and fresh herbs.
Garden City Farmers Market — One of the more polished Nassau markets, typically reopening in early May on the village green just off Franklin Avenue.
Manhasset Farmers Market — Usually running Sundays starting in late April, this one draws a loyal crowd from the surrounding North Shore towns.
Rockville Centre Farmers Market — A South Shore staple. The Village Plaza location makes it walkable from the Rockville Centre LIRR stop.
Oyster Bay Farmers Market — Down by the harbor in Oyster Bay village, this one has the best backdrop of any Nassau market.
Huntington Village Farmers Market — One of the busiest on the Island. The Huntington market runs on Main Street and typically reopens in late April.
Patchogue Farmers Market — Patchogue has done a lot to build up its downtown over the last decade, and the farmers market fits right in.
Port Jefferson Farmers Market — The Port Jefferson market runs near the waterfront with a view of the harbor.
Riverhead Farmers Market — Out in Riverhead, this market is close to actual farmland.
Southampton Farmers Market — The Southampton market has a loyal following that comes back every year.
Many of them do — and it's expanding. Check the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets directory.
