Locale Gastro Bar & Pizzette at 15 W. Main St. in Patchogue has shut its doors after a decade. The family-owned spot was known for handcrafted pizzettes and Italian favorites.

As Patchogue Village buzzes with new spots like New Village at Patchogue rentals, a longtime favorite has ended its run. Locale Gastro Bar & Pizzette, the family-owned Italian eatery at 15 W. Main St., closed its doors after 10 years, serving its last meals on Saturday before the lease expired on Jan. 31.
Opening in late 2015, Locale became a go-to for handcrafted pizzettes, veal saltimbocca, chicken Milanese, and classic Italian entrées. Locals loved the hip vibe, vibrant bar with wines, and events like live music and DJ nights. Nestled on the ground floor of the New Village at Patchogue complex, it drew crowds to Patchogue's restaurant row.
The closure surprised many, with longtime patrons sharing nostalgia online. "That breaks my heart. We had our small wedding there and went every year for our anniversary," wrote Eileen Masterson on Facebook. It follows The Cuban, another Main Street staple that shut in 2025, highlighting shifts in Patchogue's dining scene from market pressures.
Ownership confirmed the end tied to the lease, leaving Patchogue locals reflecting on memories over meals. Yelp reviews praised fresh food like the Grubfather pasta and attentive staff, though some noted service hiccups.
